August 2025 Athlete of the Month

Paige Holcomb

Coach’s Thoughts: From day one, Paige’s eagerness to learn and ask questions stood out. She’s picked things up quickly, always brings a great attitude, and lights up the room with her smile every time she walks into class. As coaches, it’s been awesome to watch her progress and see her passion for health and wellness come alive again. Huge congrats to Paige for being named CCF’s August Athlete of the Month!

  1. How long have you been doing CrossFit?

I turned 30 and decided I needed to start working out to combat my 9-5 of sitting at a computer all day. I found CCF a mile and a half from my house, and I thought it could be a good fit. After months of saying that I wanted to sign up... I finally did! I've been doing CrossFit for 5 months, and I can't believe I didn't join sooner!

  2. Favorite Movement?

I wouldn't say I have a favorite (yet..) but it has been very exciting to feel improvement when doing olympic lifts!

  3. What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant to start CrossFit?

The hardest part is starting! You have to commit to showing up and once you get there you just have to follow instructions! Now that it's a habit it honestly feels pretty easy to stick with it. When I first joined I was surprised to learn how much you can scale the workouts to suit your level of fitness.

  4. Favorite thing about CCF?

The culture feels very casual and relaxed while at the same time everyone is pushing themselves to work super hard. The coaches do a fantastic job breaking down the workout into manageable pieces and it's fun to work out with the same group of people week after week. I could never make myself work out as hard as I do in a class.

  5. What do you do when you’re not at CCF (job, hobbies, other fitness, etc)?

I work as an Architect at a firm downtown, when I'm not working I love walking and biking around the city and hanging out with my cats (and Adam). On the weekend I like to take trips to visit my family in Kalamazoo and I try to go to Lake Michigan as much as possible.

  6. What is your next big fitness goal?

My next fitness goal is to do push-ups...not on my knees, and my BIG fitness goal is to do a pull up.
