June 2025 Athlete of the Month
Aaron Pang
Coach’s Thoughts: Aaron is one of the happiest members to have in class. He’s always smiling, never afraid to chat with someone new, and is simply a joy to be around. He’s a great athlete that knows when to push and when not to and as a coach, it’s great to see that self-awareness. Speaking of great athlete, he may rival our entire membership with the deepest squat, and his flexibility is unmatched. Even with his hectic schedule as a doctor and traveling back and forth to NYC to see his significant other (and drink Guinness), he still finds time to show up to class, puts in a great effort, and has become a wonderful part of our community.
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I got convinced to start CrossFit in 2019 by some fellow medical students. I was pretty hesitant at first, but then was quickly hooked.
Favorite Movement?
Pull Ups
What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant to start CrossFit?
Just try it once or twice. CrossFit gyms can seem like a very intimidating place when you’re new and just starting but every gym that I’ve ever been to has been very welcoming and a fun place to be.
Favorite thing about CCF?
The people. It’s very nice to come to a place where everyone is trying to get a little better and have fun doing it.
What do you do when you’re not at CCF (job, hobbies, other fitness, etc)?
When I’m not at the gym I'm usually at work (orthopaedic surgery resident). Outside of work & CrossFit, I enjoy going to NYC to see my girlfriend, road biking, and cooking.
What is your next big fitness goal?
Next big fitness goal: Do a full Ironman (just did my first half last year) but probably not while I’m a resident
