Johanna Strueder

Coach’s Thoughts: If you’ve ever walked into the gym on a sleepy morning and heard laughter echoing off the walls—you already know who it is. Johanna brings the energy, the smile, and the forearms that crush every single workout.

Johanna pushes herself in every workout and excels in lifting heavy with strength and form.  She embodies what it means to show up strong.  Her strength is undeniable, her spirit is contagious, and her presence as a member of the 6:30 am morning crew is missed when she’s not there.

We’re going to miss her when she moves this summer—but we know she’ll be back to visit.

  1. How long have you been doing CrossFit?

After an injury ended my collegiate running career, I was bored of my workout routine and needed something new so I decided to give Crossfit a try and have been loving it for almost a year and a half.

  2. Favorite Movement?

Any kind of squats or heavy lifts

  3. What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant to start CrossFit?

You get out what you put in, as Haley says. It’s never easy, but half the battle is showing up and once you are here you can’t help but push yourself past what you ever imagined you are capable of.

  4. Favorite thing about CCF?

The community. Coming to CCF, I was completely new to CrossFit and didn’t know what to expect, but there has never been a class that didn’t end in fist bumps even after the most grueling workouts.

I work as an RBT at a children’s center for kids on the spectrum and am a nanny to 3 year old twins. When I’m not working, I love spending time outdoors, especially hiking, cooking, and baking. The rest of my free time recently has been dedicated to wedding planning for my wedding later this year.

  5. What is your next big fitness goal?

I would love to keep improving on gymnastics skills and double unders.
